    Stopping Pirates in Movie Theaters

Switching from film-based to digital projectors in movie houses promises better quality for theatergoers. But it could also help Hollywood studios nab bootleggers. Credit & More Information: Wired News

My sources says the overseas then back into america is the main industry,
camcorders are out of fashion, just like hollywood to be one step
behind the pirates. Next I will expect the pirates to have the movies
in 3rd world countries before they open at the theatres here.
I'll just wait for walmart and a quality original!

Why? They have much better sound and video than my measly 27" TV with no surround whatsoever!

Lemme see.... over-priced snackage (yeah, they get charged so much per ticket by the studios they HAVE to pay their employees somehow), then the feet that get pushed into your back, or the screaming lil brat because his nappy sack is full.... the list can go on and on...

We have a decent theater here... never anyone crying, because normally there are not little kids at PG-13 movies, but oh well. Yes, the snacks are expensive, but one: my parents pay for it, not me, and two: we often pop the popcorn at home and sneak it in the theater.

I like to lay back on my couch and watch a movie. I can pause it whenever I want for a snack break etc

You cant argue being at home verses being at the theatre. At home your relaxed.. the food is free and noone's bothering you (besides the people living with you) I'd rather be at home relaxing on the couch, be able to pause the movie for a piss break like tigerman said above.

Me, I like both. I like watching DVDs at home, but the quality will never compare to the surround and the big screens in the theater (thinks of Harry Potter in the IMAX, which he recently saw)

realize that in some countries there is no law against pirated media

                            for example: kuwait
