Wasn't there a story if you use the google tool bar google was able to monitor your habits or something like that

I had read that somewhere too BR7. The article stated that the toolbar would help Google collect searches, results, results visited, IP addresses, time of day, browser being used, and a total log of all sites visited regardless of whether or not you found the site through search or directly URL.
Personally, I have a hate on for ANY toolbar. For some reason they scare meComment

Please excuse me for getting a bit off topic ---
Google and other search program owners have been in the
news lately. The US Congress has been grilling them for
submitting to China's laws and limiting searches for China.
How ironic when the US Congress authorizes the US to go
deeper in debt by borrowing billions from China.
China now is the 2nd highest holder of US debt,
only exceeded by Japan.
Also in the news. Google is expanding its Linux support.
At this moment I prefer using Linux for www and email.
Google is my home page.
Got to go. The NBA is on the tube.
