request for forum feature

I don't know if this is the appropriate forum or not, but here it goes:

Sometimes I come across interesting threads that I would like to follow up on later. However, these threads are scattered over many places. I would like to tag these threads so that they appear in a central location, something similar to a "Notification Area" on Dell Forums, so that I can visit them later when there are new posts.

I guess some other people would like this feature too. Is it too much to ask? Or is this feature already there and I just don't know where to look?

A subscription feature.

You can subscribe to a particular thread simply by using 'subscribe to this thread' button found near the bottom of every thread.

Thanks, Enchanter. I've tried the "subscription" mode on several threads for several days, but it still leaves me wanting:

1) i only get notified if there are new posts (since i last visited the thread).

sometimes i wanted to visit a thread (that has important information but) hasn't had any new posts, i can't find it. i would like all the threads i subscribed to appear in a central location everytime i log in so:

a) i can look up subscribed threads easily, even if they have no new posts.
b) i can tell how many threads i've subscribed to & how many new postings since i last visited them

The central location would be the 'User CP' area, found at the top of the page. Look under the Subscribed Thread section.
