I couldn't find a general discussion area so I guess what I have to say goes in this section.

I have been a member for only a couple of days and have looked thru a dozen or so different posts.

The one thing that jumps out at me is the politeness of the people who post at these forums.

"Thanks for the help leads to your most welcome, type replies"

I have perused the www for quite some time and have never really run into a "tech" community that is friendly as this one.

A big thumbs up and a big warm thank-you for a place I know I can go and get some answers without the "flaming" that entails on most forums.

Hopefully, you'll find the answers you need at these boards.

    Welcome ;>}

I agree that flaming is uncommon in this forum. I should mention though that I have seen one or two other forums that do even better. The HiFi Choice Forum is one good example.

        Regards.

I noticed that this post is not:

          - a Boycott, obviously
          - a Protest, since it is the opposite
          - a Petition.
          - a Rant, far from it

So it has basically nothing to do in the " Boycotts/Protests/Petitions/Rants" section. This is against the rules of this forum. We should not tolerate this kind of behavior in order to keep these forums running.
Therefore I propose that the admin delete the thread altogether and ban winchendon forever as well as his entire class of IP address, to make sure he'll not come back with another nickname.

          What do you think?

Just to explain to those that have images turned off and couldn't see the smilie, both pieroxy and my posts were in light humor, and should not be taken as an attack on winchendon.

If insult was taken, then I would like to apologise on behalf of myself and pieroxy for our failed attempts at humor, and promise to be more funny in the future.

As of now, I am instituting a new rule that all new posts must contain at least one funny joke, or they will be deleted. Members that post messages that contain jokes, but are not funny, will be banned for life or be given their own comedy show on public television.

Actually, I wasn't sure, that's why I safely just said "whatever".

I took it as humor but one never knows.

Anyways, did you hear the one about the chicken?

                    Oh, you did?

Fine, that was my one new joke

Yes, I know what you both were getting at, admin.

                      .
                      .
                      .
                      Ha!

And I have somehow almost deliberately forgotten about the compulsory joke. Feel free to delete this message now.

Must be the average I.Q. is higher.......hmmmmm.......well, there are some freeware authors whom do post regularly. Then again, could be the web site is designed to be comfortable to persons whom are serious about solving a common problem and so many suggest freeware answers which are easy to use.

"On the day that I was borne, the universe was created and you all exist (and even philosophy cannot prove otherwise) because I willed it so and when I retire to that other place, this universe will inhale again."

Somebody did require some levity, did they not? Levity. but with a somber thought.

Many of the posters are helpful and decent folks and I've enjoyed posting.

let's see if u heard this one:

"A guy comes into a bus with a machine gun and screams:
                            - Which fukcing one is Johnny? Which fukcing one is Johnny?
All passengers turn around and point to a drunkie:
                            - It's him! He's Johnny!
The passengers slowly move away form the guy and the the terrorist goes...
                            - Hit the floor Johnny!
...and kills all the other passengers."
