    New law makes CD-R illegal

This is mostly hear-say, but I heard that a new local law here in Forest Park, OH would make carrying a CD-R in public illegal. They say that it was made to lower the amount of bootleg CDs on the street. But make the format illegal? Come on. Now RIAA has the government in thier pocket. The gist of the law says that if a cop finds a CD-R on you or in your car, you could get a fine depending on how many CDs you had, even if you owned the copyright of them. **** this shit, man. I'm just gonna give up.

I'm trying to make independant films. If I wanted to burn the movie I made to a DivX CD-R and they tried to bust me for it, somebody is getting sued. The stores still sell CD-Rs here, but I think the law just says that you can't carry them with you in public - but it is still unconstitutional. Most of this is hear-say at my high school, but I'm not gonna just sit back and let the RIAA screw me over so they can save a few pennies.

They think we're pirates? They think we're pirates for making our own material and distributing it? **** them! If this law goes any further (further than rumors) then I'm taking charge. I for one am going to burn music, movies, ect and distribute for FREE! All of my friends will have a fresh VCD copy of Austin powers. My favorite teachers will recieve a brand new DivX CD of Zoolander. And if I get enough CDs, I'll just drop them off at peoples door steps, like was suggested in another forum.

      RIAA beware!
