In my point of view it would be impossible as a home-made job. I don't believe any software is out to convert and record a wide screen film to the Full Frame. If it can be done it will require a hell of a lot of patients and a lot of anger when things keep going wrong. When I said anger, I meant because if a film was near the end and it was panned to the wrong place and causing an important part of the wide screen to be missing due to panning to the wrong place it would require another record. Of course, a record will need to be done so that a film can be viewed OK by sitting back and only using the hands for lighting the odd cigarette or opening the odd beer etc. I've never known any software to do the job and it requires a professional to do it by knowing a film like the back of their hands from scene-by-scene. When this is professionally done, a film is also stopped and resumed a lot to get the Full Frame effect.

Hi Kabuchan, I own a 36" Sony Wega(full screen) still works great so I haven't bought a W/S yet. Guess I'm just a cheapie. I've been using IfoEdit to go from wide screen to full screen. Lately, I do it after I've removed what i don't want to keep of the movie and shrunking it. Just before burning it. Though I've read in this forum to do it before shrinking it. There are many post on this subject. I leave the check for letterbox, and add one for pan-scan. This way if I ever buy a W/S TV, I'll still be able to view it in W/S, I hope? Now this may not be the proper way to go from W/S to F/S, but it works for me. The images don't look squished or elongated, looks normal to me anyway. Yes, I don't get to view the movie as it was intended to be, but it gets rid of the black bars (pet peeve), I don't fill I'm missing all that much where i won't understand the movie. This is just the way i prefer to watch films with this TV. At this point in time anyway, it may change later. It's just my personal preference, I don't want to start a long debate here. If you do decide to use this process be sure to set your DVD player to pan-scan, not your TV set. Let your player tell your TV what to do. I believe it will take a 16:9 to full and 2:35 to 1:78. Again this is just my personal preference.

@Dazuk1972. I used my LCD projctor in the daytime all of the time. I just pull one windows shade that is next to the projection screen. I bump up the Gamma a little and the picture is fine. Check out this one, great bang for the buck and check outt the warranty, no plasma or lcd tv gives you that.
