Copying Gladiator Dvd to 4.7 Media

I have read many threads regarding copying larger dvd - 4.7 media
I have tried many ways without success could anyone explain it to me on the above movie , I have used SmartRipper then dont seem to get any futher.

well....

you could rip the movie and reencode it at a lower bit rate, that will be time consuming but it will work. Check out my post on using a tv capture card on your computer and making a copy that way
