Labels on a Branded DVD R

    Anyone else had this problem.....

I have created my own DVD from a wedding. It plays fine in a
stanalone player, until you put a label on the disc. then it wont play the video correctly.

I believe that when you put your own label onto a Branded DVD, it throws off the balance and wont work.

I wanted to know if anyone else has had this problem, and if i tried a Non Branded disc (with my own label) would i still have this problem ?

Otherwise how can i get around this ?

    zerodfence,

Labels are not a good idea for DVD discs, for several reasons.

    They can cause refective problems.
    They can warp the disc.
They can cause the disc to jam.

    Plus a few others I can't remember.

The other problem is, any of these problems can occur, either today, tomorrow or next year.

A major problem with DVD disc is some readers create a lot of heat. This heat can have an effect on the disc over a period of time.

Best bet is, use a PROPER CD / DVD labelling pen if you have to. It may not be too pretty, but your discs will still be in their best condition in years to come.

Do you want to take the risk ??
