DVD don't play the end of vob file

    Hello,
    I have a big problem with burning a DVD-R.
The DVD does not play the end of VOB file 5. I have burned serveral DVD-R with no problem, but with this 4 DVD project i have this big problem.
It is not every time the same time i am missing at the end of the DVD.

I have burned it also on a DVD-RW and this one was working good!!

If i play the VOB files on the harddisc everythings works fine!
I have tried 3 kinds of DVD-R's and all 3 i am having this problem.

I have make the MPEG files smaller ( i thought may bee the project was too big), but als this does not work.

    Heeelp,
    Thanks, Pim Mensen Monnickendam, Netherlands.

    mmm,

it may be that you are exceeding the dvd-r limit.Usually each vob file is .99gb and therefore you can only get 4 full vobs and part of a 5th vob (the 4.5gb limit on a dvd-r) - so my initial thought was that its cutting it of as it hits the end of the disc.

but you say you have burned it ok to a dvd-rw????

    very strange!

and you can play them ok from the hard drive!!??

sounds like it could be the structure of the dvd thats up the wall and its not playing in the right order

its got me stumped - anyone else with any ideas

I have found the solution of my problem!
I have a Pioneer DVDA04 burner which can burn maximum 2 speed.
I tried the 1 speed option and now the DVD-R works!

I think because a DVD burns from the inside to the outside at the end the problem occurs with higher speed burning?! The longer rounds are the problem i think?!

To make a long story short, with a project what is greater than about 3,9 Gb you must burn with 1 speed to be shure that the end of the DVD plays well.

Thanks for your answer Tweety Pie, i hope it helps other people to!
