    star wars 2 & subtitles

I have managed to rip several dvd's with no problem,BUT, when I try with this dvd at the end of chapter 34 the picture freezes for 3mins while lots of subs flash acros the screen?? I have tried without subs and movie plays ok. I have tried using directors stream but same thing happens.
I have used decrypter and vobedit - no difference.
The file size is reduced using cce sp, video and audio are both OK.
The movie always freezes at the same point, which on the original is chapter 27 end approx 1hr 3mins, does anyone know how to fix?

First, I had absolutely NO problem ripping (and playing back from hard drive) the NTSC version of the entire DVD.

    "approx 1hr 3mins"

    It would appear that your problem is occurring at the switch to the second layer. Try cleaning the DVD and cross your fingers ;>}

        Hello everyone,

I have a guide on this Star Wars 2 step by step with every pictures captured.

I have tried to STRIP it but it ended up with 6.91G with ac3-6channel.

So I have it Splitted into 2-DVDRs instead and kept all menu and all extras just like the orginal DVD. I call this a 1:1 copy

I hate to REMPG it as it would takes forever so why not just split it into 2 discs. If you need a guide on this movie or a guide on a different title, then stop by my site and make a request.

Take care and enjoy your movies!!!

            Hi, Loco2k

You would have to stop by and get it. I have a few more guides you might be interested at:

I also ripped attack of the clones PAL version with dvd2dvd-r.
This program is really good. Had no problems, burned it to 1 dvd+r disk.

It seems this movie has created more than its fair share of problems. I have tried a number of methods and all seemed to fial becuae of the subtitle complexity (English PAL version).

I found the following does not work -

TMPG + Ifoedit Remux - Video runs too fast after chapter one
TMPG + Ifoedit Author - "Arrive too late" error message
Rempeg + Ifoedit Remux - Works but video quality is awful even with "high" settings on Rempeg

And finally an easy solution that works without resorting to complex demux's with other apps such as DVD2DVD-R (my german is really bad)

                TMPG (2 pass)
Ifoedit Author WITH ONLY THE LAST TWO SUB STREAMS. These last two streams are the basic alien translations which should suffice for most people's needs.

Hope this helps for those who want an easy solution.
