How to make (burned on DVD-R) a playable movie from a MPEG 2 file????

I am trying to figure out how to use my DV camera to make films on DVD. I have drained my camera to a AVI-file and used a Codec to make a MPG 2 file.
I want to burn a DVD of my film and ply it on my DVD attached to my Tvset. Makinf a vob-file -or??
How on earth do i progress?

does anyone know about theese things???
