I have had a problems with two DVD's that I made backup's for. I have made a copy of Goldmember, and it works just fine. I didn't have to use ReMPEG on it. The other two movies I have copied I have had to use ReMPEG in order to get them to fit on one disk, and I have had problems with them. The movies are 40 Days and 40 Nights & Star Wars II Attack of the Clones. I burned the DVD's, but at the very beginning of the movies, the picture is really choppy and hangs up, but I can skip through to the next chapter, and the movie plays just like normal. The choppiness only lasts for about 7-8 minutes into the movies. I don't know what to do in order to fix this. Could this be caused by me setting the bitrate too low? If someone could please help me out, I would really appreciate it.

BAD media
Perhaps you are both using some bad media (DVD discs) There are some really crappy discs out there and the ability to record digital info on them varies. If it is CMC disc (use DVD Decrypter to see), then good chance it's bad. KHypermedia, some Memorex, etc.. were made by CMC. Following is a quote from a guy in Germany!
"In the C'T media test, the CMC discs had the highest error rate of all (a Pi sum 8 of 1600, while 280 is allowed and good discs show below 100). No idea why this crap is supported for 2x writing."
I used to think it was something I did in my particular writing, when I now think it was because I bought "CHEAP" media.
Might try a different brand and post back here if there is improvement.

vljenewein,
that might be true but I doubt it. I used the same media before (Princo) for other movies. That's not a guarantee of course. It seems to me that SW2 is a liitle bit more trickier than other that I've backed up so far. I read some ideas around the forums and am going to try them tonight. I'm still at workComment

Attack of the Clones
Thanks all.
I was able to back up the movie on 2 DVDs following two very important advices from the forums:
1. Check "remove angles" in IfoEdit.
2. After ripping, copy the original vts_xx_0.vob from the DVD into the folder with the decoded Part1.Comment
