DVD on CD encoding... I'm NOT ripping.

Hi! I'm a newbie to this site and to deeper things DVD.

I want to encode a 5 minute video (all original content) and possibly include some pdf documents and QXpress or Illustrator files to a CD in standard DVD format; the reason being, CDs are cheap and CD drives are in most every PC; also since the file size will be rather small, may be able to burn to Mini-CDs which hold 180MB and mail for letter rates.

I'm authoring using Final Cut Express and, presumably, DVD Studio Pro and/OR Toast Titanium on Mac OSX or Jaguar using standard Mac factory CD burner or a Yamaha 2200EZ.

I could possibly burn the resultant files (whatever they will be) using a Sony Vaio on it's Pioneer AO4 with whatever DVD tools bundled with same (DVDit Lite?) or using a Rimage Producer with AO4s and their UDF (?) format.

I've surfed for hours and seen a lot about ripping, DivX and Mini-DVD, but no definitive information as to writing a DVD-on-CD format such as Spruce Tech. used to facilitate through a utility I believe they called Converge.

The finished product will be either a straight linear play movie, or DVD (ROM?) with the links to the pdfs, etc., which is what I would prefer.

    $64 question:
    How do I do it?
Does Media Cleaner do this kind of stuff?
Will it play on most set-top boxes (from other posts I presume it will)?
Will it play in vanilla WinPC CD drives?
    Mac drives?
Do these kinds of discs "autostart" when inserted and acquired by a reader?
What OS issues or compatability issues are there...PC and Mac?
Does the format require a DVD drive?
Will a CD player or OS launch a DVD player when it reads the ATIP header?
Out of curiosity, do I burn 2048 sectors?

I think all you gurus get the jist of where I'm going with this without me going on ad nauseum. Will someone please respond? Feel free to spill your guts.

I appreciate you assistance and will value the knowhow you provide, thanks!

The form had an auto-fill that escaped my diligent gaze.

Standard DVD file type is MPEG1 MPEG 2, (VCD, SVCD) most newer standalone DVD players, will play this file type, and PC's play this too, (might require codec's if its a dinosaur pc)
There are numerous tools for encoding above types, check these forums.
