I'm looking for a standalone VOB multiplexor that will allow me to offset video/audio start times. For some reason I don't fully appreciate, many commercial DVD's have the AC3 audio offset slighty (-400ms to -500ms usually) which makes remuxing difficult.
I'm in the process of creating my own "cuts" of various movies (like Blade Runner, Star Wars) to reflect my idea of what the "director's cut" ought to have been. The audio offset is preventing me from easily re-muxing the A/V back together, forcing me to decode the AC3, manually offset the audio with Sound Forge, re-encode, and remux.
If I were ripping DVD's with the intention of re-encoding them with DivX, then many DivX muxer's include the ability to offset the A/V to compensate for the output from DVD Decrypter or SmartRipper. I'm going to assume that there's a VOB tool out there that does the same thing, although I have yet to see one. I've got DVD Quick Builder and it doesn't. Neither does DVDit! PE. I'm not in the mood to buy MORE DVD authoring software that is half-baked.
Somebody once mentioned a product called Streamweaver, but I can't seem to find it anywhere standalone. It apparently now only comes with the DVD Motion authoring kit. If anyone has an old copy of Streamweaver they want to share, please let me know.
BTW, I'm taking most of the re-touched visuals from Star Wars SE, removing some of the crap (the Jabba scene, for instance), more revisionist crap (like restoring Han Solo to shooting Greedo FIRST) and I'm going to make my own Star Wars ESE (Extra Special Edition). Lucas can kiss my butt, he's ruining the Star Wars franchise with the crap he's done in the last few years.
