    DVDit

    Please help.

when I make a project using DVDit, I go to make a DVD disc, and I get a message telling me that each GOP header must be followed by a sequence step, or something along those lines.

Has anybody had this problem and got over it

    Cheers.

Basically you didn't encode your MPEG_2 video source correctly for DVD. One of the many parameters when you encode mpeg-2 video, is a parameter that tells it to include sequence headers at every GOP.

I noticed the LSX encoder doesn't do this by default...i have to turn it on each time or i get the same problem you have.

        Any luck?

So any luck getting TMPGenc to make an MPEG2 that DVDit can use? I am trying the same thing with no luck. I followed the settings at http://pwp.netcabo.pt/0165394101/TMPGEnc_Template.html and it still didn't work. I am trying various settings but still no dice.

          Tmpeng

          Nop.

          Still no luck.
It either makes an illegal file !!!! or crashes. This is crap, I might just go and buy a makro diable kit instead and put them onto VHS

I get the same thing with my mpegs too. But if I use SpruceUp it doesnt have any messages and accepts it

So, what is the need of the headers before the GOP anyway if one authoring program needs it and the other doesnt?

              Authoring

I HAVE BINNED ALL THE CRAP SOFTWARE!!!!!

All I do now, is rip the DVD, strip out unwanted audio and subtitles, correct the sectors and put the lot back onto a DVD-R.

Same video quality and AC3 sound.

              Easy

When you export from your timeline in Premiere you can export video as MS AVI and you want have any problems with DVDit, and let DVDit encoder do it for you.

Another way is to get DVDPlugin from www.pixeltools.com and it defaults to the correct settings for a DVD compliant file.

What is the quality of the DVDit encoder then? I heard it was a bit pants and gave only average output.

I think that the subtitles are in seperate movie files apart from the original movie. Or is it a sub-track in the MPG2 standard??\
