MPEG2 Multiplex whith audio offset without reencoding

is there a way to Multiplex MPEG2 (audio and video) files in a stream using an audio offset without reencoding.
Just like VirtualDub do for Divx ?

you can use tmpeg to multiplex mpeg2 streams with audio.

next time it would be good to know what kind of audiostreams
to provide more detailed advice!

Tmpgenc Do not multiplex with audio offset

Sorry, but TMPGENC do not do what I want !
I have a .m2v stream and a .mp2 stream which I want to author for a DVD burning.

The problem is that the audio is out of sync (dvb capture). I Can calculate the ofset in ms I need, but i do NOT know any software which can multiplex the files together and apply this delay to the Audio (without reencoding) !

Why not simply load the .MP2 audio file into an audio editor, such as GoldWave and adjust the delay?

uh... sorry i got you wrong. when I hear offset I think about part
of adressing not of resynrchonising or fixing an out of sync file

of course I can decompress the audio, correct the delay and recompress ! But that's lost of quality and time. I'm sure that some apps sould exist to do this !

Since you already have a SEPARATE .MP2 audiostream, what I've suggested in NO WAY involves decompressing and/or recompressing - merely correcting the delay...

you could use bbmpeg for multiplexing

an existing m2v stream with an existing mpa (mpeg audio) stream
without doing a reencode or recompress.

the required delay times can be entered in the Mpeg output window
(lower part of window)..
there are guides on how to use bbmpeg aplenty.

Thanks a lot, I'll have a look ! the delay (offset) will probably be hard to find. In Virtualdub (for divx), I was able to try an offset and to see the result on the fly (before rencoding).

This method will be ok, but will take a little bit more time because I have to encode every time before finding the right value !

maybe you will succeed faster if you are able to tell
of what origin your mpa audiostream has bee encoded from.
you know.... wether it was an ac3 stream DTS stream wav
stream LPCM stream and so on.

a few days ago I saw UNCAS posting an excerpt of a delaytime
list.

The m2V and the Mp2 files are coming from a satelitte receiver (Nokia 9902) with hard drive. The files are extracted from the hard drive in m2v and mp2.

The Nokia has a proprietary method to sync the files together. This method hasn't been converted yet. So the two files are out of sync. The offset is constant in the time (no Stretch).

So I cannot work on the sources, I have to findout the offset and the only way I found is to try !!!!!

and i guess if you find out onetime you will have this problem solved for all of the mpegs of that kind?

maybe there is a player that can delay audio while playing???

so that you can get the information (delay time) while playing your mpeg files???

it may be a good idea if you start a new thread on asking for such a player?

I've found a solution

No, the offset is not always the same, it depends of the harddrive configuration of the nokia (HDD full or not).

I've found a way to play the files and offset them on the fly ! I'm using VirualdubMod just to determine the offset.

after that, I think I'll convert the mp2 to AC3, and use ac3 delay to insert the required delay in the file.

Last the 'll be multiplexed in DVD maestro
