xtract ac3 form vob - downsampl and insert ... how ??

    Hy all

A friend of mine ... told me to use dvd shrink to compress a dvd to fit on a dvd-r , is really nice but doesnt do anything with ac3 ( downsampl ) .

So I think I can do with my own way, ( ) , but If a demultiplex a vob file ( TMPGEnc ) , then I multiplex to get a smaller vob file ( ac3 downsampled with ac3machine).

Looks like there are other streams that I cant use .

DVD Shrink doesnt recognice d new vobs , look strange , because powerdvd does.

    Any suggestion ???

Your posting is "all over the place". What do you ultimately want to accomplish?

"DVD Shrink doesnt recognice d new vobs , look strange , because powerdvd does."

You'r trying to compare "apples and oranges" - a DVD compression/re-authoring program to a software DVD player...

You can't do that with DVD Shrink.

Let me ask a different way - What do you want to end up having, a new DVD, a single .VOB file, an MPEG video, a DivX-compressed .AVI file?

Why do you want to downsample the DVD audio?

          thx for listen

I just want to extract downsample and insert a 2*ac3 streams in a comercial dvd.

          Why ? .... I have an almost 7G dvd and I want to fit it on a dvd-r ( 4.7G ) .

If I do that in the simplest way ... resampling video ( I can see video loss ) , so I would like to downsample ac3 to get more space to asign to video .

My first problem and my only problem ( big as I see ) is to multiplex 2ac3streams downsampled.

Yes I get 7 vobs .... but looks trange to video downsample dvd / re-authoring :-S

Whow must I multiplex a dvd vob file , to get a real good vob file ?

I'd STRONGLY suggest that, before you seek alternative (somewhat convoluted) methods, you simply use DVD Shrink to compress (in "Full Disk" mode) your DVD9 to fit on a DVD5.

            1) In the "Full Disk" mode, you CAN delete unwanted (other language) audiostreams

            2) There's a reason these compression programs (DVD Shrink, DVD2One, DVD95Copy, etc.) are being used by MANY people - They yield excellent results!

sorry but answer is ...... non answer

all you xplain is allright and I - we know.

I dont want to erase ANY audio stream , just downsample .

On a big movie .... video downsample are really to hight almost 50% with that kind of programs, and visible video cuality is preceptible.

so I would like to :

              - first .... demultiplex - dvd movie ( TMPGenc , should work , but some strange streams apears )

              - second downsample ac3 streams ( ac3machine does fine - 256 vibrate is enought to get a xcelent sound )

              -third ... multiplex

-fourth and last step , put all dvd structure in a / compress /re-author dvd to get my 4.7 dvd-r with more video quality .

PLz dont tell me that image quality improve is not enough , let me see by my own .

so I ask again the question ...... How may I demultiplex and multiplex a vob file to make what I have xplained ??

              THx a LOT

"How may I demultiplex and multiplex a vob file to make what I have xplained ??"

You've already indicated that you know how to demultiplex and conver the audio.

You can then use either "DVDLab" or "TMPGEnc DVD Author" (different than "TMPGEnc") to combine a properly structured .VOB with a properly structured audio file...
