What I have done :
Captured VHS via Sony DV cam as DV file to HD.
Some 100++ GB's.
Tried EasyCD/DVD creator to make DVD's from my DV file. One successful sample disk.
When attemting to make full DVD's i always seem to overfill the DVD after hours of encoding and have to restart.
Thus I think encoding first would be a good idea. Or maybe just create image to disk and then use a shrink programme??
Tried TMPG to make DVD compiant MPEG 2. But my DVD authoring software (EasyCD/DVD and Studio DV 8) seems to reencode them. Dont understand why. Any suggestions.
I do like to use Studio 8 due to the extensive tools and effects available in this package.
Any hints to what would make my life a little easier.
