When i mount the image it seems to play perfectly but as soon as i try to burn it with nero 6 as a dvd iso it wont play in any dvd players... however it will play in my dvdrw drive. Can anyone give me some guidence

Have you created a FULL DVD "package"?:

    1) VIDEO_TS folder (MUST be all capitals), containing ALL required files (.IFOs [including VIDEO_TS.IFO], .BUPs, .VOBs)

    2) An empty AUDIO_TS folder

What format of burnable DVD are you using - DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-R/W, or DVD+R/W?

Do you know for a fact that the standalone DVD player(s):

        A) Can playback BURNED DVDs?

        B) Can playback the specific format of burnable DVD that you've used?

        C) What brand of media are you using?

Check the capabilities/limitations of your SPECIFIC brand and model number of standalone DVD player at:

                1) What did you determine about the capability of your JVC standalone?

                2) Some DVD-ROMs play ONLY DVD-R (and -R/W) or ONLY DVD+R (and +R/W)...

(Don't ask me about your PS2...)

You made a mistake regarding either input resolution or output resolution somewhere in your initial conversion process (For which you've provided no details other than, "I ve managed to convert an avi file to an iso using various tools one of which is dvdit pro")

Is this in relation to when playing back dvd in a dvd stand alone player?? If so, you can go into your general setup on your dvd player and it might be set to mailbox setup. Change it to full screen and maybe this might fix the problem.
