Can I burn DVD's to Play Widescreen?

Is there a program or a way to burn movies I download into a widescreen resolution? I am using nero right now and it makes all the movies I burn crap quality and also makes widescreen. I am a noob to this so help me out please!

You could try putting finished clip into Adobe Premier. That can import 16:9 and burn to disc in same ratio.
