Besweet converts to AC3 but no audio???

Hey I'm trying to convert a Stereo WAV file to AC3 via Besweet, and it seems to be working but there is no audio in the file.

There are no error messages or nothing it looks like it convert the file and the file is as big as it should be (about 300 something @ 384 kbps for a file that is a little under 2 hours) but it doesn't work I've even tried using IFOEdit to mux it togheter with the m2v file but still no audio.

AC3FIX says there is nothing wrong with AC3 file???

Can anybody help.

I know in VirtualDubMod there's a list of installed codecs. Is there such in BeSweet and/or could there be a conflict of codecs from other applications?

It doesn't use codec it uses a DLL file callede AC3Enc.dll or something like that

I'm really bordering on the perimeter of my knowledge of the subject here. I wonder if running VirtualDubMod on your wav file and seeing what "file information" reveals might help. What is the origin of your source?

I got it from VirtualDub I captured a movie and the sound was captured directly to WAV.

I'm having the exact same problem as you do.
I'm trying to author a DVD with some DV footage that I've edited with Premiere.
I can encode the video with TMPGENC no problem. If I leave the audio in PCM or MP2, TMPGENC DVD Author generates the VOB file with no problem and I can play on my stand alone DVD player with audio (as long as I set the "Re-encode the audio using the output format of the track" option in TMPGENC DVD Author... and I still don't know why I have to set that... but at least it works).

In any case, if I convert the audio to AC3 with Besweet, and set it as the input audio file in TMPGENC DVD Author, something very weird happens. If I play the resulting VOB files with WinDVD in my PC, I can't hear the audio. The same thing happens if I burn the DVD and play it on my stand alone DVD player. HOWEVER, I know there's audio in the VOB file. I know it because I can open the VOB file with DVD2AVI, and it shows the audio track in there. In addition, DVD2AVI can generate both the d2v and the wav file from the VOB file and the wav file contains the audio I had converted to ac3. So the VOB file has the audio (I also can tell looking at the size of the file), but my WinDVD or my stand alone player won't see it.

Did you find a solution to your problem?
I've read in some forums that the problem resides with Besweet, and that the only solution is to get some Dolby licenced software to create proper ac3 files. But I haven't tried that yet.

If I'm able to figure this out, I'll post it here. If you found a solution I'd be glad to hear it too.

Yea Sort of.

It makes no sense but if I make 6 Wav files (one for each channel and one for the Subwoofer) I can make a AC3 5.1 file, which work on my PC system and in my DVD player, in surround even

actually, I finally found a solution to my problem.
I left Besweet and used ffmpeg to convert from WAV to AC3. There's a GUI that makes it extremely easy to use, and the AC3 files is now played with WinDVD without problems. I burned a DVD muxing the video and the AC3 audio with TMPGENC DVD Author and I could play it with my stand alone DVD player also.
