    can i create a new video_ts.ifo?

    hi
i have some vob files of a movie on my harddisk, but i have lost the video_ts file . i would like to compress the movie with dvdshrink and burn it on a dvd. i already tried to create new ifo files with ifo edit, but the dvd can't be played on my dvd player but only on my pc.
    what should i do?
    thanks for your replies!

"the dvd can't be played on my dvd player but only on my pc."

    1) What SPECIFIC procedures and software (and version number) did you use to burn the DVD?

    2) Are you certain that the burned media (DVD-R or DVD+R) is compatible with your standalone DVD player?

      thanks for your reply:

      1) i tried with instant copy 8.0 and nero 6.0.0.15 (made the ifo's with ifo edit 0.96 and shrinked it with dvd shrink 2.3)

      2) yes, they are compatible with my dvd player, i have some other dvd's on the same disks

Were ALL DVD-related files (.IFOs, .BUPs, .VOBs) placed in a folder named VIDEO_TS (MUST be all capitals)?

no, i ripped the movie with smart ripper, so i had only vts_01_1.vob ... vts_01_5.vob vts_01_0.ifo and vts_01_0.bup
i made them all capitals when i tried to make the video_ts.ifo with ifo edit

You can make a Video_ts.ifo for an existing titleset with DVDToolbox or DVDFab but you wont get navigation.

There is absolutley no reason that the DVD should not play on your DVD player after using IFOedit to create new IFO's.

For a start off if anything was wrong with the IFO's it created then DVDshrink would reject the files anyway.

I'm pretty sure this is a burning issue.

Are you absolutely sure you are burning these files in DVDvideo mode with NERO.
You must put ALL the files into the VIDEO_TS folder that NERO creates.

If you are doing it correctly then it is obviously your media that the DVD player does not like.

yes, they are compatible with my dvd player, i have some other dvd's on the same disks
Yes, but are you sure they are the same format I.E. all DVD-R or DVD+R?

                          Look on your burned disk.
If you do NOT have a VIDEO_TS folder containing all the IFO and VOB files then it will NOT play on your DVD player.
