Ulead DVDs don't work in DVD-ROMs?

    Hi,
I was finally able to burn a DVD, thanks in part to folks in this forum. I appreciate the help and suggestions.

I used Ulead Moviemaker (I think that is the name, anyway by Ulead) to make the DVD. I tried DVDit, but it never would burn the disc for some reason. It thought it was a CD-R even when I specified a DVD+RW. Even though its menu authoring system is inferior to DVDit, it worked. Except for one thing...

Ulead created a DVD that will play on my home DVD player (RCA 5220P) and the DVD+RW drive in the computer (with IVI/Intervideo player). But no other DVD-ROM drives can read the disc. I tried it in several, none worked. Winders thought it was a blank disc!

I can only assume this has something to do with the disc format. I thought XP would handle a UDF formatted DVD, but maybe it's the DVD-ROM drive itself. Anyone come across this? What a drag if it won't play on my laptop. Huge setback.

Can you use something like DVDit or Ulead to create the VOB/etc files and then use another app, like Nero, to actually burn the disc? It may have some setting that will avoid this.

    Thanks!
Working...
