audio problem

the audio is dolby digital

when I split a movie file into video and audio and join it again with TMpgen is goes into mpeg
what program can i use it get it back as ac3

1) Exactly what are you trying to accomplish when you, "split a movie file into video and audio and join it again with TMpgen"?

2) Are you using (as you should) TMPGEnc>>MPEGTools>>Multiplex to combine video and audio streams?

I split a full movie into video and sound then convert the video to 3D and add back the sound.
Tmpgen mpegtools would not work at it is avi not mprg thanks anyway

The problem is xp windows that way it looks at a extra long avi file.
there is a reg line to delete that stops this , but i have lot the info .
