    I Don't Get It!!!

Recording NTSC concert videos to burn as dvd's. Capture with the Wintv 2000 application using the following settings:

    Video
    "Program Stream"
    vbr 6400-8000
    720x480
    gop15

    Audio
    stereo
    Mpeg1 Layer2
    48khz
    384kbs

Have no problems using DVD Movie Factory 2 to author. No sync problems.

I have recorded a couple of concerts & authored with TMPGENC DVD Author without any sync problems.

The last two I recorded play fine with PowerDVD but when authoring with TMPGENC DVD Author I again run into sync problems. One concert (53minutes) was fine until last song, the other (87minutes) was out of sync almost immediately. Tried using DVD-Lab > same problem.

I want to use TMPGENC to author as it gives me the menu options I prefer.

I did two successfully but now the last two are having sync problems.

Why did this work before with these settings but not now?

For Dvd's can I capture at 224 instead of 384? ( I prefer higher quality)

Hauppauge capture card software is crappy. Standalone Dvd recorder is best option for many.

You could try one of the online dvd rental sites such as netflix (they have many music video dvd's) and look @ the dvd video (and audio quality) quality and determine if you are really wanting vhs quality on a dvd.

Netflix is only $20.00 a month with "unlimited" rentals , usually 15 - 20 per month.
