I want to dupe the whole dvd, is there away?

I just bought a region free, and macro free dvd player, and can make backups of my dvd's for my other apt, so that I don't have to move all my dvd's everytime I go from one place to the other or buy 2 of everything I really like and wanna always have around. But the quality to tape, obviously does not compare. Before I go through this whole splitting the dvd into two parts and then to vcd or svcd and then burn two or three cdrs. I wanna understand this better, all this is just for the movie right?
Is there anyway to acutally make a full copy of the dvd? so that I keep all the features and menus and everything?
Does a dvd writer do this? is that the only way?
Thanks for the help guys, this is all new and real interesting, but confusing as hell.

If you want to replicate the DVD in it's entirety and with the same quality as the original, then the answer to each of the above is "Yes"...

So, what about the Macrovision thing? Do I need to have two dvd players?

Like dubbing? and if I do, won't the quality be shot cuz of the macrovision? Or do I get one of those macro free, dvd players, and then hook that up to my computer? Thanks for your help.

Most DVD "ripping" software offers the ability to remove Macrovision...
