How to use ripped SUBTITLES with Adobe Encore DVD?

Hi,

I rip DVDs with DVDDecrypter. I use the "Stream Processing" mode + the demux mode.

So I get the SUB file for the subtitles... the M2V file for the video... the AC3 file for the audio...

the next level is repacking the DVD. I recompress the MPEG2 stream to make it fit on an DVD-R media. I am using Encore DVD... which is a very good software for the DVD authoring.

Here comes the question:

How to import the SUBTITLES to Encore DVD? I am sure that they have to be converted first...

any ideas?

A long n' tricky solution...

The subtitle file in the dvd it's like a sequence of pictures of the text... not a plain text file.

A filter called VobSUB used to display and convert subtitles in divx files have an utility called "subresync" that allow to convert idx/sub vobsub files from dvd extracts to many formats using an OCR routine.

I used to convert the files in microdvd files (a .sub file in text it's generated) but you have to convert again using a program called consub14 (based in msdos) to a format called sami (.smi) and this one can be converted by a last one called "encore subtitles" and this one use the sami file to convert it in adobe encore subtitles file.

I had to do this due to incompability problems betwen the formats.

so again in sequence.

1. Rip the dvd subtitle in a idx/sub vobsub file.
2. Use vobsub "subresync" tool to convert to microdvd .sub file
3. use consub14 to convert in sami .smi file
4. use the "encore subtitle" tool to convert in encore subtitle text.

sorry i don't have a more easy solution, but this one it's the one that works for me.

Subtitle Workshop 2.03 it's more complete and subtitletool are useful too. Maybe Subtitle Workshop got the format for Adobe encore but i can't find it yet.

No problem, i suggest you to use Subtitle workshop because it helped me to fix a problem with the sync of subtitles due to he fps, and besides it have a lot of export options.

Do you have an adress where I can download adobe encore dvd or do you have a serial for me!
I really would like to use that program, only I can't find any serials for it!
