tmpgenc dvd author can do the menu and dvd structure

tmpgenc plus can convert divx to mpeg2 (mp2+wav/ac3 or mpeg2-mpg) that you can feed to tmpgenc dvd author

well all the ppl wanting 2 know what software 2 make a dvd with 2 or more movie's on 1 with menu's, subtitles, extra audio, etc. well i hav done a few movies before like that (blade 1 & blade 2), i used Adobe Encore DVD, but if u r new 2 Authoring then u might aswell turn away, cause its a lengthly and reasonable frustratin process!

if u hav been doin authorin for a while then its quite simple
but i recommend nowt tryin 2 put 2 movies on 1 dvd if u hav a DVD-5 burner cause the size of the disc makes u lack in space which makes u sacrifice quality, features, etc. if u actually do want 2 put 1 or more dvd's on 1 then DVD DL (DVD-9) burners r the way 2 go (as long as u hav them yet in ur country - im in AUS)

if u hav any questions just reply 2 this post

Yes there are DVD's with more than one movie on it. sometimes they're both on one side and sometimes on the other. If both movies are on the same side then they are type 9 DVDs and a good backup with everything is possible, if they're on opposite sides then you're going to have to trim a bit and join, but it's also possible.

I have in the past made dvds with more than one movie on it,
it is true tho that doing this does mean that you have to lose some quality but depending on the source this can often be an acceptably loss
the easiest way to put 2-3 films it to encode them as VCD files (make sure to change the GOP to 15) and then feed them to Tmpeg dvd author,

I have also managed using the KVCD format to get all 5 rocky films on 1 DVD5 disk,

the only setback i have found is that Tmpeg dvd author does not support Subtitles

You can do this with DVD Remake as well. Check out these guides:

              I believe "DVDLab" supports subtitles.

DVDLab Pro suports 2 audio track and 1 subtitle track (normal DVDLab suports 1 audio and 0 subtitles). However the master of authoring, Spruce DVD Maestro, can include 8 audio tracks and up to 32 subtitles.

I have put 2 movies on a DVDR many times, but they were "short" movies to start with. You have to make a custom menu to allow you pick what ever movie you want to watch, but that can just link to the origianl menu from one of the DVD's that you rip the menu from (either a capture with WinDVD or PowerDVD if a still menu or just cut it out of the VTS_01_0.VOB file using MPEG2Cut if an animated menu). Author them all in DVDLab Pro (or Maestro) and thats it. As said above, the authoring can be very complex and time consuming linking all the chapter menus, any extras, etc. but the results can be worth it.

I've just tested adding 2 DVD's together keeping the main menu/chapter selection/audio using a combination of DVDShrink (free)/DVDAUTHOR(free) and DVDRemake (not free). You could probably use PGCEdit (free) instead of DVDRemake if you want the freeware solution but I'm not sure if it allows menu editing

you can just create a basic structure using DVDAUTHOR that contains the main menu and 2 sub menu's. You then replace the 2 authored sub menu's with the original ones and edit the buttons if required or something like that

If you want to add chapter menu's then you can also do that by creating the dummy structure with DVD Author and then replacing the PGC's with the original ones

I'm still playing around with it as it's not perfect but it's easier than trying to rebuild it from scratch for me

p.s. @ignignot, have you tried the guide you linked to? as I would like to know if it's worked for others as it's not fully tested
