    TitleWriter1.5 Text >> Settop Players/Jukeboxes

    Revisions:

Added code to fix all sector pointers in Video_ts.ifo (equivalent of Ifoedits Get VTS sectors on Video_ts.Ifo) I'm not touching vts_xx files

Moved backup to root of target drive (Ifoedit was picking up Video_ts.bkp file and computing it as legitimate part of DVD -Weird)

Added log to describe what is being done to dvd

Any problems pls post original video_ts.ifo here.

Still haven't had any problems here using proggie 75 times (without GetVts Sectors)

If anyone comes across a dvd (commercial) that displays title and author on settop (perhaps a music dvd) pls copy original video_ts.ifo here. I'd like to add author support but can't find an example to reverse engineer.

    FallenAngel,

First of all thanks for a great program TitleWriter. I tried it and it worked great on my Sony DVP-CX985V 400 disks DVD changer.

I have one DVD that have two lines in folder view on my changer. It is SADE "life, promise, pride, love" music DVD by Epic Music Video.

I attached zipped VIDEO_TS.IFO file from that DVD

    Regards.

Thanx kabanero - Almost have it nailed down. One ? and I have it. Does Sade life, promise, etc show up on both lines (On sony 400) or is it busted up (Example Sade on first line - life, love etc on second)

It shows the same text on both lines. I will double check when I get home.

            double line beta

Have a beta for filling second line - A bit unsure as I'm beginning to think the pioneer jukeboxes only fill in second line for CD-Text and not for DVD_TEXT.
This should work though on Sonys - If it does/doesn't Pls feedback.

            Slight usage difference:
Clicking on VOLUME: or TITLE: structure entries adds new entry in subsection of list.
Click on subsection entry itself to alter content.
(Note: All subentries now need a class- pulldown covers the major ones)

            Added entry under VOLUME: structure.

            First is DVDvolumename
Second should be second line in Sonys menu system.
I think both lines should be classed as MOVIE

Perhaps some of these other classes and entries are used by dvd players Info button

Well thats good for people who own Sonys - Bad for me (pioneer) I'm pretty sure it means that Pioneer doesn't support any DVD text beyond title -Oh well. I'll be cleaning up some foibles over the weekend and drop a final Ver here later

                    FallenAngel,

I used your tool also and It works great!!! Thank you for your efforts and work well done!!

I did like over 200 disks the old way in HEXEDIT & INFOEDIT and this way is sooooo much faster easier and I don't even have to think. I did like 10 with Titlewriter and I checked them with INFOEDIT before I burned just to make sure it worked and everything was there. I screwed one up because of the default writing in the lines "I forgot to delete the default text in the second line"So it was added with my text. I would recommend to prevent accidents like this maybe both lines could be default to blank "NO TEXT" so only what is typed in by the user shows up. I have not used the second line as of yet and only intend to use it for overflow from the first line to complete titles with long text over 20. I am wondering what the player is going to do when it comes to sorting when the second line comes into play?

Titlewriter1.52 cleans up entry logic. As to sorting -- Not a Clue Priority should still be by contents of first field.
First field under volume still needs entry (Think -- Newbies). And you will always edit first field or why boot the proggie.

P.S. 20 char limit is the player display limit DVD compliancy allows 40 chars - but I've put in longer using this proggie without problems (Master And Commander - Far Side Of The World)

Forgive my ignorance...but once I edit the title with Titlewriter, How do i get it from my computer to my Sony DVP-CX985V settop player? Do I have to burn the whole movie by backing it up or just the title? If I'm burning the title file and inserting it into the player ... do I then replace the burned title disc with the actual movie? Won't it try and update the title with the movie disc?

Obviously I'm pretty confused, but I really want this to work, I have over 600 DVD movies and am thinking about getting a second 985V to enable storage of all movies...but only if I can get proper titles input for all movies. p.s. thanks in advance for all your work on titlewriter.

600 movies Ouch - I have only 450 or so - half titlewrited and half not. Having just had a power failure with memory reset in my settop, and having to hand input 200 titles back in. Im thinking of titlewriting >>reburning all my collection.
Anyway to answer your question: All structural parts of the dvd must be present on the burned disk .Ifos,Vobs, bups
If you want to titlewrite a dvd you already have you need to copy everything back onto your hard drive >> Titlewrite >> reburn. Reburning just the video_ts files won't do it.

Just thought of a quicker way to do it if you have a seperate burner and a fast enough dvd rom to keep the burner fed
Using NERO. Copy video_ts.ifo, video_ts.BUP, and video_ts.VOB files to harddrivefolder >> Titlewrite
                              when time to burn
In nero select all files on dvd rom delete the above 3 files from list and add titlewrited versions to list. Using this method you should probably burn at your slowest speed.
