DVD Photo Album

I've made several CD photo albums, using Nero (with the SVCD plug in), by simply dropping the JPEGS onto the root. The result is great if Family are coming round - everyone can see them on the screen. You can even chose whether or not to add menus.

The problem is now the mother(almost in law) wants the same thing, only her dvd player will not recognise the cd (or svcd format).

I have a dvd burner - does anyone know how to make a dvd photo album?

To my knowledge I didn't think you could do this with DVD. If the player doesn't recognise VCD or SVCD I should think it unlikely it would recognise a DVD with photos on ...

... however! Someone in a thread a day or two back mentioned something called MediaBlazer I think, that puts stills into a DVD.

Of course, for personal use on the PC there's nothing wrong with burning jpegs onto a DVD in data mode.

The correct name of the software is Blaze MediaPro. It will allow you to create an .AVI or MPEG video from a collection of JPEG stills. From that point, you can then:

1) Use "TMPGEnc" (or "TMPGEncPlus") to convert the .AVI (DivX-compressed or otherwise) or MPEG to compliant MPEG2-for-DVD format - Use "TMPGEnc's" DVD wizard/template to accomplish this

2) Use "TMPGEnc DVD Author" (a different program than "TMPGEnc") to easily create the required additional DVD files and structure (and chapters and a menu, if you wish)


**If the combined filesize of the DVD "package" written to your hard drive is greater than 4.37Gb, use DVD Shrink (or similar) to compress


If your O/S is either Win2000 or WinXP, TMPGEnc DVD Author can also burn your DVD. Otherwise, use NERO to burn in "DVD-Video" mode
(As an alternative to "TMPGEnc DVD Author", you could use "DVDLab")

Just so you know, Blaze MediaPro is NOT a free program. I'm not sure if the trial version has certain limitations or not, but you can give it a shot.
