I think you can simply join two DVD's together in DVD Shrink. If not, I think there's an 'add dvd' option in TMPGEnc DVD Author - I'll check tonight when I get home

... but .. is it that important for one movie that you don't need to change discs? If they were RW's you could erase them but -R?
This isn't a learning curve ... this is b****y mountaineering!

"If not, I think there's an 'add dvd' option in TMPGEnc DVD Author"

Using "TMPGEnc DVD Author" you'll want to load the two DVDs consecutively into the SAME "track" (Do NOT select "Add new track" for EACH of the two)...

i quickly tried DVD Shrink it joins the 2 halfs of the movie but it still keeps them as 2 different vob sets with 2 different IFO sets.

i need a porgram which will join the 2 IFO's and Vob Sets in2 1 full IFO & Vob set. any ideas??

Read my post regarding "TMPGEnc DVD Author" (Different than "TMPGEnc"/"TMPGEncPlus")

First put each "half" in separate folders on your hard drive...

It sounds like the .IFO (Probably "VIDEO_TS.IFO") structure of the second half is not valid.

Why don't you simply make a new backup of the ORIGINAL DVD?

If you are saying that you don't own the ORIGINAL (commercial) DVD, I have nothing further to add to this thread - since such postings are against the rules of this forum...

DVDShrink 3.0 beta 5 does it all

I use the start/end function in DVDDhrink 3 beta 5 ...enabling me to remove start and end credits [crop] or to take out highlights or music videos from one dvd and combine them with others.
I now record favorite tv shows and fill up the second disk of movies with these. DVDshrink is much more than a compression program. I am also making compilations of my favorite music videos using only ver 3.0 beta 5 and collecting clips from various sources then combining.
I always reauthor...you will be amazed at how much better your collection can be!!!
The diffent sections will generally play with no break or pause...totally seamless.
Ulead Movie Factory can put sets of vob's together into a single vob but it's a pretty flaky program.

sounds like you need to remove region coding (Shrink/Decrypter) before you start trying to join filesets.

Do you mean copy or edition?
