    dvd authoring and weblink

    Hello,

I look for an authoring software who can create weblink.

I know that’s “DVD studio pro” do that with DVD @ccess but it's only for Mac.
"DVD Maestro" do that with webDVD, the problem with DVD maestro, is that you need a special player install on the computer in order to use the weblink.

Do you know a software who can create weblink ? (I think senarist do that but is very expensive)
Or where I can find some information about weblink and DVD.

    Thank you.

Sonic Solutions only very recently acquired Interactual (which held most of the patents on web-enabled DVDs), so Sonic is only just beginning to implement these authoring features in their high-end authoring products. It may be another season before they make these available in their consumer lines. But it is coming.

They are poised to be the best solution because thanks to their close ties to Microsoft they've been able to see to it that Interactual's neccesary scripts are going to be arriving within the chips of most DVD players before long. But of course for current machines you'd include a small program for the purpose of interfacing with the rom and web content, a small program that is reminiscent of Interactual's old PC Friendly...but less annoying.

Here's their $900 product coming out in May:

Sonic eDVD 3 -- Built-on InterActual technology, the Hollywood standard web-connection platform, eDVD 3 adds web and DVD-ROM links to DVD titles created by the majority of authoring applications available today. eDVD 3 creates cross-platform web-DVD links to online content that is playable on both the Windows and Mac OSX platforms. eDVD is expected to ship in May 2004 at a suggested list price of $899.
