    converting VOB/VTS files to MPEG

I'm trying to put a number of different clips into the same format so they can be recorded on one track when using TMP Enc Author. Most of the clips are copied from old tapes, with the format 352X240 MPEG2 with MPEG-1 audio layer-2. I'd like to mix those with clips I"ve ripped from DVD's that are in video-ts files. How can I convert the VTS files to MPEG-2? Or is there another way to do this?

To get MPEG-2 run the VOB file through TMPGEnc > MPEG Tools > Simple Demultiplex. Then, load the two files you get from that into Simple Multiplex, set it to MPEG-2 and save with a new file name.

Thank you. Is it likely the resolution will be the same, and if not, is there a way of changing the resolution?

You'll have to re-encode them to mix resolutions. Another option is to try something like Video Studio, which accepts a variety of clip types, and allows you to assemble them any way you want, and then render them in whatever output format you choose.
