Has anyone ever solved Nerovision Express 2 sync problem?

I´m using NVE 2.1.2.9 and I´m having very annoing audio sync problem when trying to convert divx and xvid files to DVD . At start audio is allmost in sync but after 30mins it´s maybe 1-2s off and after 1hour about 5s off sync, audio gets ahead of the movie . I´m always transcoding to my HD , so I don´t think that problem is too high bitrate , usually it´s 3500-5000 . One odd thing is that in the options the only audio setting is greyed out so I can´t even change that (although if I choose NTSC instead of PAL the greyed value changes) .
I´ve read through this forum and this seems to be VERY common problem , I was wondering has anyone ever figured out or even solved this and better yet , had some answers from Ahead how to solve this problem .
If possible I would like to use NVE rather than any of those 5-6 program bundle solutions .

    Thanks for any help

Since nobody posted any replies , maybe I have some answers to my own question . I have always tried to make dvd:s in PAL and since couldn´t change audiosetting I changed PAL to NTSC and also the audio setting changed to LPCM and to my surprise sync was perfect from start to finish ( I made same movie with both settings!) . I´m no expert but I think that there´s something wrong when NVE tries to code files to PAL , videostream isn´t steady and only explanation I can come up with is that there is small gaps in the videosteam and when movie goes forward they built up and gradually go more and more out of sync .
Well anyhow no problems anymore .
