    TitleWriter1.6beta Dvd_Text Add Menus >>reauthored dvd

    Revisions:
Adds Menu (Generic) supporting multiple (up to 4) titlesets dvd titleset navigation and Chapter navigation on titleset 1 to reauthored (Shrunk) files (other???).

Note: Menus and table modifications add about 150k to Dvd size

Note: Heres why its a beta
When playing result on powerdvd button highlights and keyboard arrows don't work. -- Only the mouse can be used to select buttons.

When playing under IfoEdit click on menu window and then only the keyboard direction keys and enter work. But the highlights on current active button works fine.

Everything works properly highlights, remote, etc on my pioneer settop

Allows full control over extras (what to include/chop out/trim) in reauthor mode and editing of multiple titlesets and still have settop menu navigation.

Allows menu control in episodic dvd's

There are 2 zipped parts titlewriter1.6beta.zip and video_ts.zip- to big to post here on one message BOTH parts must be in same directory.

This may/should?? also work on dvd files created using other transcoders where the menu is disabled or non-existant) (haven't tested-feedback here)

      Nice one, FallenAngel.
I'm pretty sure a lot of DVD-backupers will appreciate your work.

        Help

Like the program as it will do just what it says. Nice for a change.
I just wish I knew more about using it. Is there a guide or a manual that will tell me more about how to do things? Like adding movie names to the menu or other information.
        Again thanks for the work.

Currently have beta 1.62 allowing you to create your own menu templates (I used DVD Lab pro) (definite design restrictions).
TitleWriter Menu templates are just certain files copied from a compliant DVD --- So it follows that readding original dvd menus might be made to work on matching reauthored files. Currently does but only in limited situations. For ex. Cold Mountain does - Texas Chainsaw Massacre doesn't.

Hanging up at the latter. If Dvdshrink carried thru "Combine Shared Titles" to reauthor mode when constructing output VTS's (not likely) it would be simple to readd original menus in all cases. Wishes and Fishes. Playing with work arounds.
          Simple guides with 1.62 later

            Thanks for the answer.
Good to hear. Wish I knew more about DVD layouts but still learning.
Do you have a web site? If not, where can I get copies of the later programs such as your betas?

I own several changers that use DVD_Text and want to thank you for your TitleWriter utility!

              A few comments...

Are you aware there is a bug, in all versions, with the DVD Provider field input? You're not 'zero-pading' the text inputted to the 32 spaces. This means you can't enter a shorter DVD Provider if a longer one already exists.

              Try this for example:
Run TitleWriter (any version) & enter a DVD Provider of "ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ" and save it. Then re-open the same .IFO and change the DVD Provider to "1234567890" and save it. Then re-open the .IFO and you'll see the result is "1234567890KLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ". (The fix for this should look something like: Provider$ = Provider$ + String$(32 - Len(Provider$), 0) )

I know you are currently expanding the features of TitleWriter, by adding menus and all, but was wondering if you could be persuaded to add "command-line" driven abilities as well? What I mean is the ability to use "command-line" parameters, something like:

              TitleWriter /Cmp="CompanyName" /Pro="ProviderName" /Vol="VolumeName" /Ttl="TitleName"

This would make TitleWriter very easy to automate in a batch script, where a copy procedure would go something like:

              dvd2one
              titlewriter /vol="VolumeName"
              copytodvd /dvdvideo="directory" /volumename="VolumeName"

Thanks so much for your efforts!

Oops - Its always the little things that slip by. Fixed in 1.62Beta now if I could just find a host. Menu templates and proggie add up to more then the 100K limit to post here. And no Website
As to command line option. Sticky at this point and getting worse as I allow the user to select multiple menu templates and home grown menu templates.

as the program grows, the options you are including are starting to need a short explanation (for dummies like myself).
