    Losing audio-synch with TMPGenc Author

    I am making an episodic backup of Queer As Folk Complete Season Volume 1 which includes 3 episodes. I ripped the three episode titlesets with DVDShrink at no-compression and then transcoded using DVDRB with CCE SP. I can play the output of DVDRB with various players and no synch players in either episodes. When I attempt to re-author with TMPGenc Author at the Source Setup in step 2 "Select Title" it shows the 3 titles with the the recording times:

    Title 1-> 46min42sec
    Title 2-> 1hr26min48sec
    Title 3-> 44min52sec

    When, I add all the tracks and I am at the main screen of "source setup" showing all the tracks all the "lengths" are identical except for track/title 2. The main screen basically shows this:

    Title 1-> 46min42sec
    Title 2-> 1hr26min47sec
    Title 3-> 44min52sec

    As you can see, Title 2 is off by one second. This is perplexing because TMPGenc Author just saw it as 1hr26min48sec. It comes as now surprise that I have audio sync problems with just Title 2 and it is about 1 second.

    As I said all the players play the DVDRB output fine so I just doubt it is a problem with that. For some reason TMPGenc Author loses one second, and it doesn't begin to lose sync till half way through the episode. I tried using DVDLab but it was too complicated and it seems like this is such a small issue that TMPGenc author should be able to handle. So, basically, every time I try to add this track it sees the correct length but once its added a second is chopped off in the "length" screen and this results in loss of audio sync.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      hey, thanks for the help. I have tried that, actually I try just loading title 2 and every single time I add it, it previews as "1hr26min48sec" but every single time it gets added it is "1hr26min48sec" and subsequently out of sync. Its weird. I mean the actual file plays perfectly but once TMPGenc Author adds it to the project it mucks it up.

        You may have to use "AC3Fix" to fix the audio header of the file (BEFORE using TMPGEnc DVD Author)...

          Hey, thanks for replying. This may be pretty stupid, but this would mean I will have to demux the vob files first, correct? If so what is the best/simplest method to demux vob files and put them back together or whatever? Thanks

            Use "TMPGEnc" or "TMPGEnc Plus". The "Mpeg Tools" feature will allow you to both "De-multiplex" and "Multiplex" the files.
