Need Help Converting Quicktime to mpeg

I recently purchased an excellent software product to help me in authoring my DVD movies but my camera only takes them in quicktime format and the software does not support that format one of the few it doesn't. Is there a way to convert the quicktime file into another usable format ?
any help would be appreciated

If you are on a Windows platform, you can use "TMPGEnc" or "TMPGEnc Plus" to convert a Quicktime MOV to mpeg. However, you must first download and install the "Quicktime Movie Reader" plugin. For more information visit:

Where do you get the quicktime movie reader plugin? I already have tmpgenc
