I have a AMD 1.4 266 DDR Using Pinnacle Studio 7.

Is there any faster way to convert AVI to Mpeg2 any faster than on my system now. It takes about 1 hour to convert a 1 hour chapter..

Yes, but they are tweaks. Go to your start bar, click run, and then type in msconfig. With msconfig, you can keep programs that are normally alway running in the background from doing so, thus freeing up some resources that your computer will rely on when rendering video. Also disable all screen savers and desktop backgrounds. This will lesson the amount of video memory your system will be using.
