    Quality in DV

I Picked up a Cannon Mini DV ZR20 to edit and burn DVD. I've Tried to use Ulead, Pinnacle, and nero for editing and authoring. I feel that my movies are not any better picture quality than my 10 year old 8mm camcorder.

Has anybody out there have the same feeling. Should I have bought a $3000 camera?

Your question isn't very clear. You are questoning the qualitiy of your DV camera and also burning video to DVD's. The quality can be affected by how you convert the video to DVD.
First off, did you watch the movie on a normal TV set using your miniDv camera? Did it look really good there? if not, then yea your camera is crap.

if it looks good there, then you're conversion is messing up the image quality. try using tmpeg or lsx encoder. those built in encoders for ulead and various other dvd authoring applications all stink
