    Simple Authoring with IfoEdit 96

    Hoi,
I'm trying to author a simple DVD without anything but 2 videos. the videos are both mpeg 2 dvd compatible. I got them as seperated streams (m2v and mp2/wav).

Doing this with 1 video is simple.
    -open ifoedit
    -click dvd author
    -Author new dvd
-select video audio and destination click ok and done.

Here I'm stuck! how to get the 2. video into that ?

I tried to author the 2. vid. in a seperate process and then take the VTS_01_0 and copy it to VTS_02_0 in the 1. authored video.dir. but how to edit the VIDEO_TS.IFO to link with the new video file ?!

    HELP ?!

"how to get the 2. video into that ?"

Put the second mpeg-2 file on it's own "Track", or if the resolutions and framerates are the same for both videos, simply add the second video to the existing track (i.e. "Add File").

You do that with "TMPGEnc DVD Author".

According to your initial post, you indicated that you were also using DVD Author, which frankly I don't know why you would want to use IfoEdit - seeing as how you already stated that the mpeg-2 files are DVD compliant. DVD Author should accept them directly for output to DVD.

This are the menue points to do in ifoedit to author a new dvd, I'm not using an dvd authoring software, only ifoedit (096)
(I should have made that clear, sorry.)

I encoded the mpeg files using TMPGENC.

                I would try this procedure:

                1. Convert the AVI (DivX or Xvid)/mpeg file(s) to a DVD compliant mpeg-2 file(s) using "TMPGEnc" or "TMPGEnc Plus". Use the DVD template (NTSC or PAL) form the "Project Wizard" to help you accomplish the task. If you have an mpeg file that is already DVD-compliant, then skip directly to step 2.

                2. Then use "TMPGEnc DVD Author" (different than "TMPGEnc") to author the newly created mpeg-2 into a DVD-related file structure (.IFO, .BUP, .VOB). As an alternative, you can use "DVDLab" to author as well.

                3. If the combined filesize of the project exceeds 4.37 Gig, use "DVD Shrink" or similar transcoding program to compress.

                4. Use "Nero" or similar burning program to burn onto a DVD (r, rw) disk.

Yes, this is the normal way I go, but this time i want to do this:
                  2. Then use "TMPGEnc DVD Author" (different than "TMPGEnc") to author the newly created mpeg-2 into a DVD-related file structure (.IFO, .BUP, .VOB). As an alternative, you can use "DVDLab" to author as well.
with ifoedit only . Do you know how this works with two video files so that you got 2 tracks ?

i don't think that you can merge/combine two video streams (m2v) with ifoedit or rejig. sorry.

                      You could try two things.

You can only do two videos seperately with ifoedit and not in one VTS with Ifoedit. You could author both videos seperately to a folder.

Load both into DVD Shrink using reauthor and create a new DVD . There would be a slight pause between each video.

If you need to combine the two videos into one VTS. Then use TPGEnc DVD Author as already mentioned. It comes in a 30 day trial.

                      Ifoedit guides.

                      or

If you get hold of vobedit. You could try authoring the files then join the vob files.

I've looked thru DVDShink menus , and yes, in Re-Author mode, and I find no way to merge or combine two movie files. Are we talking about .vob sets , or some other file type?
Regardless , I dont see the function / option to add/combine anything??
