splitting main to one disc and extras to second disc?

    Hi
This has probably been covered a hundred times but I can't find anything that specifically relates to it.
I just burnt weezer - video capture device (funny enough)

And it compresses down to 52 % so the result is pretty average.
I want to split the main to 1 disc and the rest to the second disc.

Problem 1, how do you know what the hell to use, in the MAIN MOVIE section it has Title 3,4 and 5 and they all look identical.(in the preview window and in size)

Problem 2, if I drag extras into the Re-Author window it warns me that it can't retain menus.

I guess it is possible that the way some DVD's are structured it makes it close to impossible to split it up and still function correctly, A recent example was Oasis - Definitely Maybe.

If I'm being a dawk go easy on me.........................cheers

You might want to start here:
DVD Shrink is software to backup DVD discs. You can use this software in conjunction with DVD burning software of your choice, to make a backup copy of any DVD video disc.

You'll find links to different guides there

"it has Title 3,4 and 5 and they all look identical.(in the preview window and in size)"

Most likely that is because there is a normal and a wide screen version.

"if I drag extras into the Re-Author window it warns me that it can't retain menus."

You won't be able to retain menus if you use "Re-author" mode, however, you might find the information contained in the following thread helpful:

you may want to look into dvdRemake, copy the dvd to your HDD with dvd decrypter, then use DVDremake to take out all the unessicary menus and extras, and just leave the main movie and menus, nd export the dvd then burn it, then re open the original dvd and take out the main movie and leave the extras

It's important to note, if I remember correctly, that DVD Remake is a commercial (not freeware) product...

The demo version of DVDRemake however will allow you to experiment with the program's features - it just won't let you export the project.
