Video TS Problem

I am a newbie at DVD copying but have got the basics down fine -having said that I do have a problem -

I changed over an AVI to MPG and that works fine on playback, then I Author it with TMPGEnc Author - so far no problem. Its when I burn it onto DVD. It plays ok on Stand Alone until a certain point in the Film when the Picture Stops but Audio carries on fine. The length is ok it is what it should be, Ive gone thru it on my PC all the way thru to the end. Ive Re Authored it 3 times now (all on diff Discs) but it always stops the pic at same place on DVD playback with Audio carrying on.

Any ideas please would be grateful.

I'd have said at first glance, media but for three copies to do it exactly at the same point is one heck of a coincidence.
With what procedure and app did you convert the AVI to mpeg2 - it is mpeg2? I think it must be for TMPGEnc DVD Author to have processed it.
Was the AVI a download or a TV card recording?
This isn't a learning curve ... this is b****y mountaineering!

The original was a Download, then I used TMPGEnc DVD Source Center to change AVI to MPG - no problems there playback is great. Then I used TMPGEnc DVD Author (tried that 3 times now) I used TMPGEnc to write the DVD as well. Have also tried it with Nero 6 with same problem on playback.

Its getting frustrating now lol.

The frustration I can identify with! TMPGEnc DVD Author is usually rock solid - I do all mine on it.
I'm not familiar with Source Centre - have you tried TMPGEnc 2.5?
I'm wondering if your conversion is strictly DVD compatible. You could do worse than run VirtualDubMod on your AVI and post the file information screenshot here.

Argg found the problem there is an improper join in the Video Stream - Hmmm yet no join is apparent in playback on PC.

So can I rejoin it I do have EZ Joiner n Splitter or is there something else I can use. bearing in mind I am still learning so nothing to complicated or ill have a brain fart LOL

Aha! I just seen a procedure set out by Setarip in a thread a few down the list http://forum.digital-digest.com/show...threadid=42789
This should cut out a bad join hopefully

In "Merge&Cut", set the beginning of the second part to just AFTER the problem point...

Do you get any report from running it through VDubMod with 'check for errors' on?
If you know where the glitch is and VDubMod isn't curing it, can either TDAuthor edit it or mebbe DVD Shrink(start/stop editing) can cut it?

Ive ran it thru VirtualDubMod and it found the error (Bad Join) - now Ive tried cutting the clip with TMPGEnc DVD Author (loss of sound after the cut) and DVD Shrink wont let me view the Set Start /End Frames, Ive even ran it thru EZ Splitter but to no avail - now I can either give up the ****** thing or I can go back and run it thru VirtualDubMod and then save it as an AVI (its an MPG atm) Unless anyone has any bright ideas please.

Heck I may be Female but i sure am trying to get this to go lol .

Load the ORIGINAL .AVI into VirtualDubMOD and "Mask all bad frames". Then save with a NEW filename. Process your NEW .AVI into DVD format...
