Re-creating Menu without Re-Encoding

Hello!

I have a 4.7g DVD that contains a VERY basic and ugly menu. I want to create a new menu without re-encoding the files, maybe even adding chapters. I tried to use nero 6.6 but it shrinks the files in half and distorts the video. How can I take the VOB's and make a new DVD without compromising quality?

I attached a picture of the current menu to show you why I would like to change it.

DVDLab (or Pro).
It will directly import the .vob's and let you create any menu you want.

I will give this a shot thanks! It does not re-encode and degrade the video correct?

It doesn't touch video nor audio. It's an authoring application, not an encoder/decoder.
A .vob is just a muxed video/audio stream.
DVDLab will import the .vob's and join them into one continuous movie.
You can then edit if you need to, in any external editor, or create menus, chapter points, whatever, in DVDLab, then compile and burn.

One more question about DVD Lab Pro, can you select an audio file such as mp3 to play during menu viewing? This is the major drawback to tmpeg dvd author.

MP3 is not dvd spec.
Transcode the mp3 to AC3 in ffmpeggui then import the AC3 for your menu.

So once you have an AC3 file you can browse to it and add it? You don't have to mesh it with anothe program?

When you create your menu in dvdlab, just load the ac3 into the audio track, with your video for the menu (or no video, doesn't matter), then render.
