Converision of WMV to MPEG-2

I have created several slide show videos (WMV) using MS Photo Story 3.0 and I am attempting to DVD author using ULEAD Workshop 2.0.

Initially, I allowed Ulead Workshop to decompress and convert the files from WMV to mpeg-2. (The process took almost 16 hrs). However that isn't the main issue. The problem is that the final DVD has "flickering" or a "flash" between transitioning images.

Then to correct I downloaded Super DVD Creator 8.0. The wmv to mpeg-2 conversion process was much much faster (less than 2 minutes per video clip). However, the flickering still persists after authored to DVD.

The strange thing though is that the "flickering" between images doesn't exist in the original wmv file or the converted mpeg-2 file while being viewed on the PC before DVD authoring process.

Any ideas?

It is the brand of media that is being burnt to. I suggest Ritek Ridata brand or Verbatim brand.

I am currently using Maxwell DVD-R. Could that be the problem?

Further Analysis...

After further analysis I noticed that even in the DVD preview using ULEAD Workshop 2.0, before actual writing to DVD; the "flickering" is present.

To sum up...

Flickering is not present in original wmv or converted mpeg-2 file viewed using Windows Media Player but is when previewed in ULEAD Workshop before burn procedure or written to Maxwell 8x DVD-R.

Any other suggestions?

I am not familiar with "ULEAD Workshop", so I can be of no assistance there.

An alternative method would be to use TMPGEnc DVD Author (A different program than TMPGEnc) to create the compliant DVD Structure. If your OS is XP, TMPGEnc DVD Author can also burn for you.

Use "TMPGEnc DVD Author" (a different program than "TMPGEnc") to easily create the required additional DVD files and structure (and chapters and a menu, if you wish)


**If the combined file size of the DVD "package" written to your hard drive is greater than 4.37Gb, use DVD Shrink (or similar) to compress


If your O/S is either Win2000 or WinXP, TMPGEnc DVD Author can also burn your DVD. Otherwise, use NERO to burn in "DVD-Video" mode - Tutorial Located here on how to do this: http://forum.digital-digest.com/show...453#post221453
