Problems capturing NTSC VHS with WinFast TV2000 XP

    Hi,

I recently bought a WinFast TV2000 capture card. I'm looking at converting some of my NTSC vhs tapes to DVD. I managed fine with my pal ones.

My video player supports both PAL/NTSC, but Pal is the standed tv format.

When I try to playback/capture the ntsc tapes, the picture is distorted but still has colour. (The top 3/4 of the video plays ok, but the bottom 1/4 has a line than repeats the very top of the picture)

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

    Danna

    Hi,

I attached an image of the picture I'm receiving from my vcr to my capture card with an ntsc tape.

The TV has to be capable of playing one or the other, not only the DVD player.

For example, a video recording made in the UK could not be played on US standard VCR's or shown on the TV.

        Hey,

I managed to work it out. It was a specific setting which needed to be changed on my vcr. Here in Australia all modern tvs, vcrs and dvds players are both ntsc/pal compatible automatically playing either format.

Ok, I didn't know that. Thank you.
Keyword there was "Modern". Not everyone will have a modern TV.
