MenuShrink version 2.4 - utility for shrinking DVD motion menus to still frames
You can preview all the menu cells if you want to. This allows you to keep menu transitions or video segments (interviews etc) that were placed in the menu domain and are normally eliminated by MenuShrink.
The overall DVD size is now displayed in the Log
along with a couple bug fixes.
Get the new version at the usual place:
Make sure to refresh the download page to get version 2.3!
Here's the change log.
UI:
You can preview all the cells that have more than 1 I-frame. This is useful
to keep or discard menu transitions, or buttonless videos that are put in the
menu domain (interviews etc).
The overall DVD size (including menus and title) is now displayed in the Log.
Engine:
MenuShrink now avoids bypassing a cell if doing so would yield a "repeating
menu" (a menu page that repeats once if the user presses one of the buttons).
Clicking "Abort" now skips updating the IFOs!
A warning is issued when the wrong video format is found in the PGC cell
times.
The cell playback time is now computed from scratch.
Bug Fixes:
If "keep audio" was unchecked and a cell was kept animated, the audio streams
were mistakingly reset.
Thanks guys... There isn't that much new in this version, other than the ability to preview all menu cells to keep things you really wanted to keep but couldn't in previous versions (like the 90mn of black crap in your latest shrink blutach! ) and some small improvements (avoiding repeating menus, which were exceedingly rare anyway)...

Those "black crap" and "jumping boy" situiations can be so easily stripped with PgcEdit/VobBlanker that I'm almost (just almost!) ashamed to claim it as a "top 10".
Don't be (almost) ashamed! Any menu that's over 1GB has something fishy about it! Although apparently the current champion (Le Secret de l'Espadon, R2, 2.4GB) is simply a case of a large number of languages for a long, animated menu.

Thanks jean! I bet jm1647 will be happy to see a new version

Yippeeeeee, but it is hard to imagine making a great tool\program better. I just got 2.3 and will be using it now. Maybe I'll get lucky and find a 3GB'er.
Check this out, from Teken (an email I received)... The screenshot is crappy, sorry about that.
He also sent me the log... I think this is the new record! I'm going to have to update the main page. The amazing thing is that this is supposed to be the original Xmen, R1. The DVD folder reads:
XMENSE_DISC1
so I'm guessing it's Xmen special edition?
Can anyone confirm this result?!

It is possible to watch the film as the Threatrical version. Also it can be watched with the 6 deleted scenes added in by using branching. There is a third option to watch 19 behind the scenes stuff when a X Men logo appears in the film. I wouldn't be surprised that that is where the extra MB came from as it lasts an hour for all the extra stuff.
I've seen plenty of button in the titles domain but haven't seen all that much real video in the menu domain - except for fake blackness. Still, it's possible to have it as a menu PGC instead of a title.
I have seen several DVD's with video in the menu domain. The most popular is stuff before the menu loads like film trailers and FACT copyright trailers.
