I'm new to backing up my dvd's, I just used to take out the foreign languages and then dvdshrink it to DVD5. Now with this tool, more space for shrinking. When I learn the other tools available maybe a big movie will fit on my 128mb thumb drive !

I had tried v1.0 on Shaun Of the Dead the other day and it came up with some error about something referenced not being there. I seen in the forums this morning that v2.0 was available and got it and tried it on Shaun and it went right through and saved me 'bout 200mb The preview thing is great!

Thanks for the feedback jm1647! I'm glad 2.0 fixes the problem with Shaun of the Dead. I'm guessing it had something to do with updating some tables in the IFOs.

I was gonna post in detail about the error I had using v1.0 but 2.0 did the trick! Any more stuff comes out and you haven't put a new version out yet I'll be sure to let ya know in detail what happened.

Yes, I just took a look at your log:

Updating VIDEO_TS.IFO
Skipping LU 1 PGC 2 cell 1/1
Skipping LU 1 PGC 15 cell 4/1
Skipping LU 1 PGC 16 cell 7/1
ERROR updating VTSM_C_ADT! We found a cell (16/1)than was not originally declared!
Done with errors!!

Indeed, this DVD has the same VTSM_C_ADT error I've found on a few others. That's why version 2.0 (which ignores the error) did the trick for you. The newer versions (not yet released) actually fix the table (instead of just ignoring the error) which is sometimes needed to be able to load the DVD into DVDShrink....

If it did the trick, no need to mock strip. I think v2.0.6 and above mock strips anyway.

That would be cool, but no... It just complements the VTSM_C_ADT table. That's a far shot from a complete mock strip (which also updates the vobs if you select that!)...
Anyway, I'm glad the problem is fixed!

jeanl - I am not sure if you mind or even noticed but, here recently I used MenuShrink in one of my guides/tutorials. If I posted a wrong procedure or if there is a easier way of doing it. Please let me know.

Yeah, I noticed that you were using an antique version!!!! I didn't say anything because essentially, things work exactly the same! Thanks for including menushrink in your guide!

jeanl, not sure if you are aware. I thought at first it was just me, until a few other members posted about it. The movie "Meet The Fockers". After you process it, then click the "DVD Shrink" button, it comes up with this error message:

No, I wasn't aware! Could you possibly send me the MenuShrink log at jeanldvd(at)free(dot)fr ? Also, which version were you using? (matter of fact, did you actually try it yourself?).
I'll try to find the original posts to get more info...
