hello, i just wanna ask how to subtitle? i had a 1 hr clip edited from my favorite tv series and i want to put a subtitle on it. i had been search over and over in the internet on how to subtitles a video (i.e. avi, mpg) but all response was a programs like subtitle workshop, subtitle creator etc. which i think don't fit my needs, i knew that programs but how can you use such programs if for instance you had a 40 mins clip wich you want to add subtitle on it, you need to play that clip and when the convesation begun you need to pause and type what was that conversation with it's corresponding time. i mean it is very very hard to do that, now what i want , how to do subtitles in an easier way, the guides to do it, the program used , or if there is program that can automaticatically recognized the conversation and converting it to text or are there other way to do it.
how to subtitle?

Baby,
I have never heard of a text to speech type thing for subbies. But you may try it. Ater that, you will need to insert the timings in your SST and mux (with muxman say).
As you infer, it is very much a labour of love and can get to the point where it is just not worth it.

i think this program can help "better wave to text" which has a capabilty to translate words to text and then you can edit it later on. but it seems that there has to be trained it's speech recognition. according to the read me.txt it only has Microsoft Speech Recognition Engine 4.0 (English) and you can add any speech recognition engine and also you need to train by a dictation to become efficent it's recognition engine bu no les than 6 months and after that .according to help files it's accuracy become 95 - 98 %.Comment
