Software for DVD Authoring which keeps DD 5.1 Sound

    Hi all

I want to reauthor some DVDs - just want to make my own Menues. All the SW I know can only recode the Sound in DD 2.0 but I want to keep DD 5.1 Sound - I only want to make my own Menues.

Is there anyone which can recommend a SW to author a DVD while keeping DD 5.1 Sound. Nero and TMPenc DVD Author will not work as far as I know

    Any Help is welcome

      DVD Authoring while Keeping DD5.1

      Hi setarip

I used Version 1.6 of TMPenc DVD Author
I did not find how to keep DD5.1 - is there a HOW TO DO IT somewhere on the net.
I have a MPG file - recorded from SAT TV with DD 5.1 Sound - I tried to use TMPenc but the output seems to be DD2.0 only

anyway - maybe I just need a special Plugin or newer Version - Thanks for your answer

        Which is it?

Are you CERTAIN the file you captured contains 5.1 audio?

          Hi setarip

I did not capture it myself - got it from a good friend - it´s the Pilot from the TV Series LOST which our German TV Station PRO 7 has broadcasted in DD 5.1 - If I playback the file with POWER DVD the parameter Display Shows DD5.1 and my Sound System Displays DD 5.1 too - and the sound via the Soundsystem sounds like DD 5.1 anyway I have the same problem when reauthor other DVDs of some TV Shows - I just want to make my own menues but want to keep the DD 5.1 Sound but all the Software I tested until now just gives me DD 2.0 in their Menues for the output mode - I need SW which does not alter the Sound

          Thanks for your tips

Since "admin", the owner of these forums, has indicated to me that capturing of NON-PAY television transmissions is not a violation of the rules established for these forums, I can feel comfortable in responding further to you:

If I understand you correctly, you have ONE multiplexed MPEG-2 file (If I'm wrong, please advise).

If so, simply use "TMPGEnc DVD Author" to "Open file". If it accepts the file, there is no reason that the program would arbitrarily downmix the audiostream...

              hi setarip

you are right - pro 7 is not PAY TV - it´s broadcasts are free avaiable via the ASTRA Satellite System in Europe

I will try again with TMPenc DVD Author

              MANY THANKS
