Authoring DVD Created Using GoVideo Recorder

I have the govideo 5960 recorder. I convert a vhs tape to dvd and it plays fine on all my consoles. However, I can not get this dvd to read in a dvd rom or reader in my computer. I have tried 3 different computers with no luck. When I go to open the disc in dvdshrink, I get the error "DVD Shrink encountered and error and cannot continue".

I copied all the video_ts folder files to my hard drive and tried to create a new dvd using nero and got a message about my ifo files.

Has anyone ran into this problem and fixed? If so, please tell me what I need to do as this is most aggravating and govideo support is no help.

Can you tell us the exact error message DVD Shrink gives you? (word for word)

There should have been some more text after "DVD Shrink encountered and error and cannot continue".

After the message it says "Failed to open File c:\video_ts\video_ts.vob

If your govideo 5960 recorder is creating .VRO files, you can use "TMPGEnc DVD Author" to convert it to "standard" DVD format - and burn a copy, which is what I presume you are trying to do.

Thanks for the info, i'll try it and see if it helps. I tried to play it on 4 pc's, all with different dvd-roms with no luck. However, my boss tried it on an E machine (lol) and it worked with power dvd.

Then you are not dealing with VRO files. Could it be as simple as the computers DVD rom drives not being able to read the format of the disc? Your boss's computer sounds like it can.

I assume you have a DVD writer that can read the DVD as you made the DVD. What make are the DVD ROM's and what format is the DVD recording in (- or +)?
